United in action against fisheries crime
The visual identity, event branding and film premiere for the Blue Justice Conference 2025 at UN City, Copenhagen.
The conference identity
One word carries the theme: Action. Sunlit water and fish give it life, and a zigzag of Blue Justice blues ties it back to the parent brand.

The need
Who they needed to reach
Ministers, government agencies, enforcement and fisheries officials, international organisations and civil society from coastal states around the world, in the room and following online in four languages
What stood in the way
On 2 December 2025 the Blue Justice community met again at UN City in Copenhagen, under the theme United in Action against Fisheries Crime. Ministers and officials from countries including Angola, Benin, Cabo Verde, Dominica, Ghana, Jamaica, the Maldives, Mauritania, Mauritius, Somalia and Suriname shared what they are doing, alongside speakers from UNDP, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism, the ILO and Norway's enforcement and space agencies. Some joined in person, some live online and some by recording, and the livestream ran in English, Portuguese, French and Arabic. The conference needed a fresh identity that still belonged to Blue Justice, and that worked as well on a phone screen as on a stage.
What success looked like
A conference with its own clear theme and look, instantly recognisable as Blue Justice, that carried the same call to action to delegates in the room and viewers online.

How we met the need
We gave the conference a theme line and a look of its own: United in Action against Fisheries Crime, set in large, confident type over sunlit underwater photography, with a zigzag of blues taken from the Blue Justice chevrons. The bold word Action does the work at any size, from a stage backdrop to a web banner. We applied it across the backdrops, roll-ups, agenda, web banners and partner panels, and built an image library of water and fish photography to keep every piece consistent. The conference also hosted the premiere of Taking Back Our Oceans, our documentary for Blue Justice.
The process
Fisheries crime crosses borders, so the response has to as well. The Blue Justice Conference 2025 brought that cooperation together at UN City in Copenhagen on 2 December 2025, under the theme United in Action against Fisheries Crime.
The day ran from data and digital technology, including the Blue Justice vessel tracking centre in Vardø and satellite monitoring, to country insights from ministers and officials across Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean, and deep dives on human trafficking in fisheries and crime along the value chain. Speakers joined in person, live online and by recording, and the livestream ran in four languages.
Because we created the Blue Justice brand, we could give the 2025 conference a new identity without losing the family look. The theme line puts one word, Action, at the centre, set over sunlit underwater photography with a zigzag of Blue Justice blues. It runs through the stage backdrops, roll-ups, agenda, web banners and partner panels, supported by an image library of water and fish photography.
The conference also hosted the premiere of Taking Back Our Oceans, our documentary on the people fighting fisheries crime. It follows our work on the Blue Justice Conference 2023, and is one part of a ten-year partnership. See the full Blue Justice story.

What the client got
Delegates in the room and viewers online saw one consistent conference, with a theme that put cooperation first. Built on the Blue Justice brand, the new identity felt fresh without breaking from the work that came before, and the day ended with the premiere of Taking Back Our Oceans.
